New Subaru Impreza is safer than ever with new safety technologies and it is easier to drive
Subaru has introduced the new Impreza with many safety focused technologies including eyesight technology and collision avoidance system at the same time. Its eyesight system has many features itself and plays a vital role in the safety of Subaru vehicles and its occupants at the same time. It features an automatic emergency braking system, to avoid any collision, adaptive cruise control system for tough or lumpy terrains, for the motorway cruising it has an automatic lane departure warning system. It also helps the driver to keep in the lane even it is heavy traffic. The new 2019 models get the majority of these features as standard features on range topping models, however, the rest of the Subaru Impreza models have all of them as optional features.
Subaru always has known for it’s horizontally opposed boxer engines and it becomes even appealing when comes with its newly added safety gear. The engine options are nothing else but the boxer engines. However, the new Impreza offers two petrol engine options, with two different variations including 1.6-litre and 2.0-Litre Subaru Impreza petrol engines. Both engines have an option of selecting all-wheel-drive system as the standard feature.
The engine lineup starts with the base model where a 1.6-Litre engine cranks 114bhp of power and a torque of 150nm at the same time. It is capable of doing 62 miles per hour in over 12 seconds, which means that it is a bit slower engine by large. It has a rated top speed of 112 miles per hour only.
On the other hand, the next level of the boxer engines is 2.0-Litre Subaru Impreza Petrol Engine with improved acceleration and it makes the benchmark speed of 62 miles per hour in under 10 seconds. It has a top speed of 130 miles per hour and cranks 156hp of power along with a torque of 196nm. Both engines are reported as efficiently quiet and smooth but the 1.6-litre engine a bit slower if compared to the 2.0-litre engine. But after 50 per cent rpm level, both engines start shouting and some serious power shortfalls start arising according to the tester of these vehicles. Although Subaru has lower defect rate in its engines but being a unique engine, it requires utmost attention of the owner and the garage, if in case an owner needs a replacement of the engine, the better option should be a reconditioned Subaru Impreza engine for sale in UK rather than go for a used engine because there is a great chance that the used unit was removed due to any faults in the engine. The EURO NCAP has awarded 5 stars to Impreza safety.
Previously all of these systems were available as a single option on all vehicles and there was nothing offered as standard feature. The 2019 trims are now improved with these features. The 2019 Impreza saloon is one of the least costly version of Impreza which is equipped with the collision avoidance system as an option and the entire eyesight system can be added to the equipment list for just $900. The model price is also less than the previous models offered in the last year.
The eyesight system has pushed the Impreza to the top of the list if safety picks across the globe. Other features become less important with the arrival of the eyesight system only. Because in the modern mobility safety considers as the most important factor than performance.
In the 2019 model year, Subaru has all its focus on the safety of the Impreza models and all its trims. Subaru has added many new features to the 2019 Impreza trims, where, new alloy wheels have been added to the vehicle as well. Two additional features including USB port connectivity and a central console infotainment system has also been added. It is a 6.5-inch touchscreen and offers all infotainment system including HD radio, CD player, and cell phone connectivity features. This system also supports apps including navigation system, iHeart radio, birds watching app and most importantly a blind spot monitoring system. This system comes in both options including sunroof or without the sunroof. For the manual transmissions, the new models have short throw gear levers for better shifting of the gears.
